Horror Trailer Bonanza

Check out the latest truckload of horror trailers to hit Apple and Yahoo, including The Wicker Tree, Cabin in the Woods, Innkeepers, and The Woman in Black.

Looking forward to several of these. If you can track it down, be sure to watch the original movie adaptation of Susan Hill’s terrific novel The Woman in Black – great eerie flick. Would love to see her book The Man in the Picture get a film treatment.

Last House on the Left’s David Hess Dead at 75

New York Times reports David Hess died last Friday in Tiburon, Calif. He was 75. The cause was a heart attack, his brother, Jeremy, said.

Hess’s film career began in Wes Craven’s first movie, “The Last House on the Left” (1972), one of the first in the “slasher” genre. His sister Judith’s boyfriend, the actor Martin Kove, was considered for the role of the psychotic convict Krug Stillo, but decided not to pursue it for fear of being typecast. Hess won the part and also composed the film’s soundtrack.

Pee-wee Herman Honored as Visionary at SCREAM Awards

This Saturday, Spike TV will honor the man responsible for one of the most iconic characters of all time, as Paul Reubens receives the Visionary Award for his work as Pee-wee Herman at “SCREAM Awards 2011.” The two-hour event will air on Spike TV Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 9 p.m.

Said Reubens on his receiving the honor, “If Pee-wee were giving this quote, I think he’d scream out ‘I’m a visionary! I’m a visionary!’ and then run to the dictionary to look up what visionary means. But I know what it means, and I am profoundly grateful and honored to Spike TV for this recognition. I share this with all the amazing collaborators I’ve had over the years and my fans, without whom none of this would be possible or worth it.”

The show will also feature visionary director Quentin Tarantino, Robert Downey Jr., Darren Aronofsky, Mark Wahlberg, Kate Beckinsale and Lena Headey.

American Horror Story

American Horror Story

You are now entering crazytown

We’re always happy for a new weird and we definitely got it with the premiere of American Horror Story. Set aside a little time to try this one out. We don’t know if it can sustain this pace of crazy, but if it can, we’ll hang around.

Jessica Lange was born to play this character.

And we noticed this last week on IMDB – it’s been updated so we didn’t find the secret info we thought we might’ve stumbled on. Check out Dylan’s episode appearance numbers compared to castmates.
